Baldur's Gate 3: Save Liam Guide
How to Save Liam in Baldur’s Gate 3: A Hilariously Heroic Adventure!
Oh no! Liam is in a bit of a pickle when you first meet him in Baldur’s Gate 3. He’s strapped to a board and getting a good beating from the torturer, Spike. And guess what? Spike has the infamous Mark of the Absolute, making him no pushover. He’s determined to extract some vital information from poor Liam, and won’t take no for an answer!
But fear not, my brave adventurer, for there are ways to rescue Liam from this eternal punishment! And what’s more, Baldur’s Gate 3 presents a handful of exciting options for you to choose from. So, let’s dive right into this emotionally rich quest!
The Heroic Choices
- Method 1: (Recommended) Convince Torturer Spike to Let Liam Go
- Use your extraordinary persuasive skills! Make a check in Illithid Power, Performance, Deception, or Detect Thoughts. You got this!
- Alternatively, and not quite as recommended, take on the four goblins in the room before they have the chance to harm poor Liam. But it’s always better to talk it out, right?
- Method 2: The Sneaky Route
- Pass a Slight of Hand check to unlock the shackles that bind Liam. Quick and nimble is the way to go!
- After that, have a little chat with Liam, and he will make his miraculous escape. Huzzah!
Beware the Chain Reaction
Now, here’s where it gets interesting. Attacking the goblins may seem like an appealing option for some adventurers (understandably so). However, proceed with caution! If you go down this path, prepare to face the consequences. It will likely trigger a chain reaction in the Shattered Sanctum, causing a series of events you may not want to deal with just yet.
If you’re the completionist type, make sure to collect the Mark of the Absolute and save all the other innocent souls hanging around here before unleashing your wrath upon the goblins. Priorities, my friends!
And remember, persuading the mob to scram has its own perks. It allows you to rescue Liam without attracting any unwanted attention. Plus, if you’re feeling particularly sly, you can attempt the Sleight of Hand check multiple times. After all, there’s no immediate threat to Liam and your group of adventurers. Swap between party members during the conversation and Sleight of Hand checks for the best results. You’ve got this!
- Baldur’s Gate 3: Getting to Grymforge
- Baldur’s Gate 3: Navigating Noxious Fumes
- Baldur’s Gate 3: Obtaining Sussur Tree Bark and Sussur Bloom
