Baldur's Gate 3: Saving the Owlbear Cub Guide

How to Save the Adorable Owlbear Cub in Baldur’s Gate 3

In the fantastical world of Baldur’s Gate 3, players can encounter a variety of memorable companions and pets. While many are easy to find, there is one fluffy friend that players often miss out on: the precious Owlbear Cub. To ensure you don’t overlook this adorable creature, follow these specific choices and steps!

Step 1: Enter the Owlbear Nest

The journey begins by venturing into the Owlbear Nest. Explore this location carefully, but whatever you do, resist the urge to harm the Owlbear Cub’s mother. Trust us, it’s all for a good cause!

Step 2: A Disappearing Act

After encountering the protective Owlbear mother, take several long rests until the Owlbear Cub is mysteriously missing from the Nest. This cunning cub has a penchant for sneaking away when you least expect it!

Step 3: A Goblin’s Sympathy

Head over to the Goblin Camp and locate a Goblin named Krolla holding the captured Owlbear Cub. Engage in a friendly conversation with Krolla, and convince her to release the cub. You can even challenge her to a game of Chicken Chaser if you’re feeling extra adventurous!

Step 4: A Bonding Experience

Now comes the crucial bonding time with the Owlbear Cub. Use your Animal Handling skills or the magical ability Speak With Animals to communicate with the cub. This will help you establish a connection and build trust. If you’ve previously befriended Timber the Squirrel, this process will feel familiar!

Step 5: Three Nights of Cuteness

Once the Owlbear Cub joins your party, be prepared for three heartwarming interactions that take place on separate nights. First, offer it some food to satisfy its hungry little tummy. Then, when the Cub arrives wounded, showcase your medical expertise with a successful Medicine check to heal its injuries. Lastly, when the Cub presents you with a deceased bird as a gift, playfully pretend to munch on it, solidifying your friendship with the Cub.

And voila! You’ve saved the Owlbear Cub and gained an adorable companion to accompany you on your adventures in Baldur’s Gate 3!

Additional Information

It’s important to note that the order of these steps is crucial. Make sure to follow them precisely. If you take care of the Goblin Camp before ensuring the Owlbear Cub goes missing, you won’t be able to save it. So remember, prioritize your cuddly quest first!
