Baldur’s Gate 3, the hit new RPG from Larian Studios, is like that one person in your friend group who knows how to make every party unforgettable. Set in the Forgotten Realms universe of Dungeons & Dragons, this game takes full advantage of the rich lore, monsters, spells, and items that D&D has to offer. And let me tell you, there are some pretty wild things you can find while exploring in the Underdark, like the elusive and anti-magic Sussur Blooms.
How to Find a Sussur Bloom
Just like finding true love, Sussur Blooms can only be found in the depths of the Underdark. As you venture through the game, keep your eyes peeled for the rare Sussur Trees, because that’s where these magical flowers grow. There are a couple of Sussur Trees you can stumble upon, with the first one located near the rear entrance of the Arcane Tower. Word of advice: avoid the tower’s magical turrets and descend through or around it to reach the Sussur Tree and its precious Blooms.
But wait, there’s more! This baby tree is actually a tiny version of an even larger Sussur Tree. To find the mother tree, head north to the Myconid Grove. Beware though, the Hook Horror defenders won’t take kindly to your flower-picking shenanigans. Maneuver along the branches of the mother tree and grab as many Sussur Blooms as you can. Just make sure you’re up for the fight.
What to do with Sussur Blooms
Alright, you’ve got yourself some Sussur Blooms, but what can you do with them? Well, my adventurous friend, the most important use of these magical flowers is powering up the Arcane Tower’s generator. By placing a Sussur Bloom into the generator, you’ll not only activate the tower’s elevator and lighting system, but you’ll also deactivate those pesky Arcane Turrets. No more awkwardly tip-toeing through danger!
But that’s not all! Sussur Blooms hold the power of anti-magic. Carrying one of these bloomin’ beauties creates an anti-magic field around you, preventing you and anyone nearby from casting spells. Not only that, but it also breaks Concentration and suppresses any magical effects. Sure, it might upset the spellcasters in your party, but think of the chaos you can create! Sneak up on an enemy wizard and watch as their magic becomes as useless as a broken sword. It’s all in good fun, really.

Now, here’s the catch. These Sussur Blooms might be powerful underground, but they’re as wilted as your motivation on a Monday morning when brought to the surface. So, make sure to use them to their full potential while you’re exploring the underbelly of the world.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently available on PC, and it’s set to release on PlayStation 5 on September 6, 2023. So, gather your party and get ready for a wild adventure!
