Capcom discussing future of unnumbered Resident Evil games like Code Veronica.
Hold onto your zombie-slaying hats, Resident Evil fans, because Capcom might just be cooking up more remakes for you to sink your teeth into!
During a recent shareholder meeting, someone had the guts to ask Capcom if they planned on remaking other beloved Resident Evil games like Code Veronica. While Capcom didn’t give a definitive answer, they didn’t shut down the possibility either. The anticipation is killing us!
Capcom’s response was a bit cryptic, saying they were “carrying out discussions regarding the future expansion of this series so it can be enjoyed by a wide audience.” While that doesn’t confirm or deny any plans, it’s got Resident Evil fans buzzing with excitement! We can’t wait to see what’s in store.
Interestingly, Capcom gave a similar answer to questions about expanding other series like Monster Hunter, Toraware no Paruma, Sengoku Basara, and Onimusha. It seems like they’re cooking up something big across the board!
Oh, and let’s not forget about Mega Man! Capcom is still figuring out its approach to new ports and collections in the series. They’re addressing technical issues and making sure they deliver the blue bomber’s adventures in the best way possible.

Just a few weeks ago, Capcom reached out to Resident Evil fans to help them decide which game to remake next. They wanted to know your thoughts, your preferences, and how much you value their community efforts. Talk about involving the fans!
But here’s the really juicy part. Right at the end of the survey, they sneaked in two more questions: “Please let us know your thoughts on our Resident Evil websites” and “Which other Resident Evil games would you like to see remade?” Capcom knows how to keep us on the edge of our seats!
Capcom has already blessed us with remakes of three out of the first four Resident Evil games. The latest one, Resident Evil 4, has been a hit, ranking as one of the highest-rated games of 2023 on Metacritic. It’s right up there with the likes of Tetris Effect: Connected and only a few points shy of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Impressive stuff!
