The world of Disney Dreamlight Valley is huge, and it’s filled with a treasure trove of resources across eight exciting biomes. Hang out with your favorite Disney characters and embark on a quest to solve the mysterious Forgetting that plagues the valley. But beware, fellow gamers, as you’ll need specific resources to complete some quests!
Usually, you’d get a hint on where to find these items from the Collection tab or the quest itself. However, the game doesn’t just hand you the answers on a silver platter, making it a bit tricky to locate items like Iron Ore. But fear not! Updated on August 6, 2023, by Sean Murray, this guide is your key to finding Iron Ore in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How To Find Iron Ore In Disney Dreamlight Valley
At the beginning of the game, you can only explore Plaza and Peaceful Meadows. Unfortunately, you won’t find any Iron Ore in these areas. You’ll need to venture further into the game and unlock new areas where this precious ore is waiting to be discovered!
The biomes where you can find Iron Ore are:
- Glade of Trust
- Forest of Valor
- Sunlit Plateau
- Frosted Heights
- Forgotten Lands
But wait, aspiring miners! These areas are initially blocked by those pesky night thorns. You’ll need to progress through the main quest until you fix the Pillar of Friendship in Peaceful Meadows. Once that’s done, you can unlock any area you desire, as long as you have enough Dreamlight to fuel your exploration.

Once you’re in the desired area, keep your keen eyes peeled for those black-colored rocks scattered along the edges. These rocks not only contain Iron Ore but also precious Gems. Mining these rocky treasures has the chance to reward you with Stone, Coal, Gems, and, of course, Iron Ore.
Here’s a pro tip: When you reach friendship level two with a character, you can assign a task to them. One of these tasks is Mining. Hang out with your character of choice and perform this task, and you’ll have an even greater chance of scoring extra Iron Ore. Just make sure the ore is the last thing you obtain when you break the rock for this trick to work like magic.
How To Craft Iron Ingots
Once you’ve gathered enough Iron Ore, it’s time to put it to good use! Head over to any Crafting Table on the map and navigate to the Refined Material tab. Here, you can flex your crafting muscles and transform Iron Ore into valuable Iron Ingots. To craft Iron Ingots, you’ll need the following items:
- Five Iron Ore
- One Coal
You can even use items from your trusty Storage boxes, so they don’t need to take up precious inventory space. Lucky for you, the nodes that drop Iron Ore respawn quickly, so you’ll always have a fresh supply to feed your crafting addiction.
