Dorm Rooms in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: A Missed Opportunity

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Dorm Rooms

In the vibrant world of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players embark on a thrilling journey through the Naranja and Uva Academies. While these academies offer a range of captivating stories and exciting classes, there’s one aspect that fell short of players’ expectations – the dorm rooms! It’s like Game Freak had an empty canvas but forgot to paint it with the player’s personality and style.

Sure, Scarlet and Violet aimed to expand player customization, but when it comes to dorm rooms, it feels like they missed the mark. While players can change their personal style and picnic setups, their dorm rooms were left behind. And that’s a shame because even the dorm rooms of classmates Nemona, Arven, and Penny showcase their individuality. Arven’s room is all about food, while Penny’s room exudes tech-savvy solitude. Why couldn’t players have the same creative freedom?

Imagine the possibilities if players could truly make their dorm rooms their own! They could have chosen their own bedspreads, carpets or rugs for the floor, or even the color of their walls. It’s not like we were asking for a full-blown Animal Crossing experience, but a touch of personalization would have made a big difference.

Alternatively, if customization was off the table, Scarlet and Violet could have utilized the dorm rooms to reflect the player’s in-game progress. Picture this: as players conquered each gym, their dorm room would transform with subtle changes to showcase their accomplishments. A decoration from Artazon’s Sunflora statues or merchandise from Levincia’s influencer Iono would be a pleasant reminder of the battles won and the milestones achieved.

To take it a step further, the dorm room could have had a noticeboard where postcards from key locations, the player’s own captured moments, or helpful tips and tricks from NPCs could be displayed. This way, every time players returned to their dorm, they would be greeted by a room that tells the story of their journey and celebrates their achievements.
