Sega announces the names of the first six zones in Sonic Superstars.

Get ready for a blast from the past in the upcoming game, Sonic Superstars! Sega has revealed the first six Zones that will take you on a nostalgia-filled ride through the Genesis days of the franchise. But hold on to your chili dogs, because unlike Sonic Mania, this game brings the excitement of multiplayer platforming to a whole new level with up to four playable characters on screen at once.

Now, let’s address the elephant in the room – we’ve all been a bit tired of seeing the same old Green Hill Zone popping up in every Sonic game, right? Well, fear not! Sega has heard our cries and promises that Sonic Superstars will feature all-new and original Zones. No more recycling old levels, folks! It’s time to bring on the fresh and exciting.

In a recent sneak peek, Sonic Team creative head, Takashi Iizuka, spilled the beans on what we can expect from these brand-new Zones. Picture this – a scenic beach becomes the backdrop for the first Zone called Bridge Island. It’s like walking into a vacation postcard right out of the gate! And hey, did I mention that the day and night cycles add an extra layer of eye-catching beauty? Talk about aesthetics!

Sonic Superstars Zone Names:

  • Bridge Island Zone
  • Speed Jungle Zone
  • Sky Temple Zone
  • Pinball Carnival Zone
  • Lagoon City Zone
  • Sand Sanctuary Zone
  • Press Factory Zone
  • Golden Capital Zone

Prepare for the adrenaline rush as you swing through vines in the Speed Jungle Zone. Get ready to face the skies in the Sky Temple Zone, taking inspiration from Sky Sanctuary and Windy Valley – it’s a marathon in the air that will leave you breathless! Feel the excitement of a classic Sonic pinball machine in the Pinball Carnival Zone, and make a splash in the watery wonderland of Lagoon City, where the Chaos Emerald Water power shines its brightest.

But hold on, there’s more! Unfortunately, we couldn’t play beyond the Sand Sanctuary Zone, but we do have a sneak peek at two additional levels. Get a taste of Eggman’s mischievous ways in the Press Factory Zone, where you’ll navigate through a thrilling rickety area filled with pesky robots. And brace yourself for some hot lava action as you explore the castle-like Golden Capital Zone. It’s fiery, it’s dangerous, and it’s going to test your reflexes like no other.

Sonic Superstars is set to launch in Fall 2023, and we couldn’t be more excited! It’ll be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Get those controllers ready and prepare to blast past the competition with our favorite blue hedgehog!
