When it comes to bounty hunters in the Star Wars series, most people think of Boba or Jango Fett. But let’s not forget about Calo Nord from Knights Of The Old Republic or the badass Cad Bane from The Clone Wars. This blue-skinned, red-eyed alien with a western-style coat and hat is the epitome of cool in the Star Wars universe.
Who Was Cad Bane?
Cad Bane, originally from the planet Duro, was a conniving and cruel bounty hunter who always had his eyes on the credits. He mentored Jango Fett, but that doesn’t mean he treated him like family. Bane was ruthless and calculated, and the Jedi considered him one of the most dangerous beings in the galaxy. He was a skilled leader, although he preferred doing things solo to maximize his profits.
What Did Cad Bane Do During The Clone Wars?
Cad Bane was a force to be reckoned with during the Clone Wars. He was hired to steal, abduct, and battle the Jedi. Despite being thwarted multiple times, Bane proved his skills time and time again. Obi-Wan Kenobi was one of his biggest rivals, and Bane’s main goal was to kill him. While he never succeeded, he did manage to outsmart and defeat Obi-Wan in several encounters.
What Did Cad Bane Do After The Fall Of the Jedi?
When the Jedi fell, Cad Bane continued his work without skipping a beat. One of his notable appearances was in The Bad Batch, where he clashed with Clone Force 99. Bane showcased his lightning-fast gun skills by shooting down Hunter and kidnapping Omega, although the group eventually rescued her. Later in The Book Of Bobba Fett, Cad Bane became a major player on Tatooine and faced off against his former student, Boba Fett. Unfortunately for Bane, their battle ended with Fett emerging victorious and ending Bane’s reign of terror.
How Skilled Was Cad Bane?
Cad Bane was legendary among bounty hunters, and after Jango Fett’s demise, he became the most feared hunter in the galaxy. What set him apart was his ability to go toe-to-toe with Jedi without any Force powers. Bane was a brilliant fighter who could overcome Jedi mind tricks and telekinesis. He fearlessly fought the likes of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Quinlan Vos, often coming out on top. He even breached the Jedi Temple, leaving a lasting impression on the Jedi Order.
