In addition to outfit customization, The Sims 4 allows players to edit and modify their bodies, including their facial structure. Players can change any aspect of their Sims’ bodies according to their preferences. This guide will walk players through the steps of reshaping and refining Sims’ bodies in The Sims 4.
How to Edit Sims Body in Sims 4
Customization of Sims is only possible in CAS mode. While creating a Sim, players have the flexibility to edit the Sim’s body according to their preferences. The body parts can be edited in a breeze by following these steps:
- Enter CAS mode in The Sims 4.
- To modify the demeanor of the Sims, click on their face.
- Players can choose from pre-established physical characteristics or edit Sims’ demeanor directly from the Detail Edit mode.
In CAS mode, players can edit different parts of the body such as face, hair, and body shape. Let’s dive into changing various aspects of Sims’ appearance.
Editing the Face
Players have a range of sixteen skin tones (both standard and distinctive) in The Sims 4. In addition, they can select from pre-established face shapes. The shapes of the face can further be altered in the Detail edit mode. After choosing a face shape, players can modify various aspects of the face by clicking on them. They can tailor elements such as eyes, chin, and nose. Skin characteristics such as wrinkles and freckles can also be edited.

For glitz and glam, players can select accessories like necklaces and earrings. Some options are available for male Sims, such as a wristwatch.
Hats
Players can up the fashion game of Sims by giving them a hat. Hats come in three types: with a brim, without a brim, and caps.
Editing Existing Sims in Sims 4
There is no conventional method of editing a pre-existing Sim in The Sims 4. It only provides players the opportunity to modify the Sim’s body while creating a Sim. However, players can use cheats for customizing pre-existing Sims in the household.
Enabling cheats within the game is imperative before using any cheat in The Sims 4. However, enabling them on different devices follows a different approach. Here is how to activate cheats within the game, depending on the platform:
- PC: CTRL + SHIFT + C
- MAC: Command + SHIFT + C
- PS4: Press L1, L2, R1, and R2 buttons.
- Xbox One: Press LB, LT, RB, and RT buttons.
Once cheats are activated, follow these steps:
- Type “testingcheats true” in the window and hit enter.
- Wait for the message “Cheats are Enabled” to pop up.
- Type the cheat “cas.fulleditmode” and press enter.
- Now, players will be able to edit any Sim by left-clicking on any Sim while holding the Shift key and choosing the interaction “Edit in CAS.”
Modifying Hairstyle, Outfits, and Accessories of Sims
Fortunately, The Sims 4 provides a straightforward method to change the accessories and outfits of Sims. Here is a guide on how to do it:
- Left-click on any Sim while pressing the Shift key.
- Choose “Modify in CAS” from the menu.
- Make necessary changes and exit CAS mode.
Changing Traits in Sims 4
While creating a Sim, players are given the option to choose preferred traits for their Sims. These traits determine the behavior and interests of Sims within the gameplay. However, if at some point, players feel that the traits don’t align with their interests anymore, there is no option to edit or alter those traits.
In this case, cheats come to the rescue. Players can use the “cas.fulleditmode” cheat to alter traits by following the steps mentioned above. Alternatively, players can head to the rewards store and buy the Re-Traiting Potion for 5000 satisfaction points. Once purchased, Sims can consume this potion to change their traits.
The Sims 4 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Enjoy customizing your Sims and let your creativity run wild!
