The Sims 4: Uncovering Hidden Worlds
Since its launch in 2014, and with every subsequent expansion pack release, The Sims 4 has consistently amazed players with its breathtakingly beautiful and diverse worlds. But did you know that there are hidden spots in the game that are just waiting to be discovered and explored?
7. The Cave Of Sulani
Sulani, the Polynesian-inspired world from the Island Living expansion pack, is widely considered one of the most stunning worlds in The Sims 4. To find the hidden Cave of Sulani, players must first locate the Admiral’s Wreckage and search for a mossy cave with an incomplete mural on its adjacent wall. As players dedicate themselves and their Sims’ time to exploring the cave, the mural slowly but surely completes itself. Soon, the option to Travel Cave Waters appears, and Sims emerge from the cave with a high chance of receiving treasures like mermaid kelp and rare shells for their collection.
But here’s the twist – traveling to the Cave of Sulani is incredibly anticlimactic. It doesn’t actually take players anywhere! Who would’ve thought? The developers missed an opportunity to create an inner world full of rock pools and collectibles, leaving us slightly disappointed.
6. Sylvian Glade
- Baldur’s Gate 3: Locating Stern Librarian Ffion
- Overwatch 2 announces Illari’s arrival in Competitive
- 17 VR Games for Friends
Sylvian Glade, a hidden world in the base game, often goes unnoticed by players. To find it, players must visit the Crick Cabana lot in Willow Creek and search for a large tree that looks out of place. Sims must then spam various interactions like “View,” “Water,” “Compliment on Leaves,” and “Chat about Roots” to unlock the option to “Explore.” After entering the tree, Sims must follow the sound, travel downstream, enter the mist, and finally travel to the Glade. Sims with a wellness skill above level seven can teleport there while meditating.
The serene Sylvian Glade is filled with lush greenery, picturesque ponds with rainbows, and waterfalls complete with sound effects. Players can construct a wedding venue or secret house on a small 15 x 10 lot. Though the beauty is remarkable, there’s not much to do there. It’s like a pretty face without much substance.
5. The Forgotten Grotto
The Forgotten Grotto, another hidden world in the base game, awaits exploration in Oasis Springs. Players must venture to the back edge of the Desert Bloom Park and find the entrance to the Grotto. Breaking in successfully requires Sims to take the wide path, climb a ladder, step onto a ledge, and finally travel to the Grotto.
Similar to Sylvian Glade, players can build a small 15 x 10 lot in the Grotto. What sets it apart, however, is the mysterious wooden toilet, the only interactive item, and the opportunity to discover the rare Batfish. The Grotto offers beauty and excitement, making it a step up from Sylvian Glade.
4. Sixam
Welcome to Sixam, the most difficult world to reach in The Sims 4. This hidden world is inhabited by aliens from the Get to Work expansion, and its otherworldly nature demands a greater exercise of imagination to craft. Sixam offers a 20 x 20 lot to build upon and captivates players with its wandering alien NPCs, neon blue and green hues, surreal flora, and unmatched atmosphere.
To get to Sixam, there are two ways. The easiest involves joining the scientist career and crafting a wormhole generator. The more challenging method requires a level 10 rocket science skill and the installation of a wormhole generator on a rocket ship. Both methods offer aliens, geodes for collection completionists, and unique plants that can be brought back to the human world.
3. Mt. Komorebi Upper Mountain
Take a deep breath and embrace the picturesque snowy scenery of Mt. Komorebi, inspired by Japanese mountain islands. The Upper Mountain area of this world is truly a sight to behold. Sims with a minimum climbing skill of level eight can host a hiking trip by planning and completing a Mountain Climb Excursion social event. Upon reaching the summit, participants are rewarded with a beanie, bracelet, wall plaque, and 300 simoleons.
But the real adventure lies in the ice cave, where Sims can WooHoo, drink from the mountain spring, and search for valuable prizes like Simmi capsules, a potion of youth, and even 10,000 simoleons. Mt. Komorebi offers a thrilling challenge, and the rewards make it worth the climb.
2. The Magic Realm
Prepare to be enchanted by The Magic Realm, a hidden town from the Realm of Magic expansion pack. Filled with spells, potions, and roaming spellcasters, this mystical world sits atop a swirling rocky vortex. Its vibrant hues, whimsical architecture, and mystical forests enhance the enchanting atmosphere.
To find this ethereal realm, visit Glimmerbrook and seek out the magical portal. Spellcasters can even travel from anywhere by interacting with the Glimmerstone from their inventory. Unlike other hidden worlds, The Magic Realm has no rabbit holes or chance cards. It boasts the largest lot and offers a plethora of activities and objects to interact with. Kudos to the developers for their imagination and dedication to creating this beautiful world.
1. Hermit’s House / Deep Woods
Hidden deep within the Granite Falls Forest national park from the Outdoor Retreat game pack lies The Hermit’s House. Don’t let the title fool you, because this hidden world is by far the best in The Sims 4. To find it, follow the bramble patch and embark on a journey filled with breathtaking cascading waterfalls, vibrant rainbows, lush greenery, and crystal clear waters for fishing.
In the Deep Woods, players can meet and befriend the Hermit. He has much to offer, including teaching Sims a special fertilizer recipe and helping them find rare plants like blackberries. The Hermit resides in a pretty big house on a 30 x 20 lot. If players find creative ways to coexist or replace the hermit, they can build and design their own Hermit’s House.
The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. So go ahead and explore these hidden worlds, each with its own unique charm and surprises. Happy Simming!
