Zelda Clip Highlights Joy-Con Drift Woes

The Pain of Joy-Con Drift in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

One brave player in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has experienced the agony of Joy-Con drift in the Rakashog Shrine. Joy-Con drift has plagued numerous Nintendo Switch owners, and unfortunately, some players battling through the treacherous world of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom have not been spared.

As players embark on their journey through the vast land of Hyrule, they will encounter various shrines unique to Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. While the main map may bear similarities to its predecessor, these shrines offer mind-bending puzzles designed specifically for this game’s challenges. The very first shrine that our hero, Link, encounters is the Ukouh Shrine, found on the Sky Islands. This initial shrine presents minimal challenge and serves as a warm-up for what lies ahead. But for one player, their Joy-Con drift woes have extended deep into the heart of the game.

Reddit user DursoBR recently shared a clip showcasing their unfortunate encounter with Joy-Con drift in the Rakashog Shrine. The video captures the player’s valiant attempt to navigate the shrine’s mechanics as Nintendo intended. With sword drawn and shield raised, Link readies himself to reflect a beam of light onto a hexagonal switch, a key step in progressing through the shrine. However, just as victory seems within reach, the dreaded Joy-Con drift rudely intervenes. Link is suddenly lured away from his intended path, disrupting the pristine reflection and disrupting the player’s progress. The partially lit hexagon mocks our valiant hero as they wait for the wayward beam to realign. Oh, the agony!

The Rakashog Shrine makes its home in the East Gerudo Sky Archipelago region, nestled within the vast map of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s Hyrule. Within this shrine, the Reflective Device challenges players to utilize mirrors and special items to direct light towards specific areas, unlocking subsequent sections of the puzzle. Despite their struggle against Joy-Con drift, DursoBR managed to conquer the Rakashog Shrine through strategic maneuvering. Yet, there is a lingering worry that this troubling drift may resurface, hindering future puzzle-solving endeavors.

With so many Switch owners affected by Joy-Con drift, DursoBR is certainly not alone in facing this roadblock. While Nintendo may eventually address and repair faulty Joy-Cons, unfortunate Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fans might find themselves missing out on precious gameplay while awaiting repairs. Let’s hope that a fix arrives swiftly, allowing all adventurers to continue their heroic quests without interruption.
